Volksfaden Fabrics

I found a great online shop specialized in high quality cotton fabrics.
It's called Volksfaden, and it comes from Germany!
I love the way they present their different fabrics with those fantastic pictures. You can see some of them below.
There is lots of different styles of fabrics, all coming from Japan and United States.
So if like me you like to sew, you might want to get some of those fabrics to make you something nice...!

Antony Gormley

I recently discovered the great sculptures of the British sculptor Antony Gormley.
He makes a radical investigation of the body through the use of many different tools and materials. He explores the body from a collective or single aspect, and works on the relationship between bodies in large-scale installations.

The one I saw at SFMoma.

Chuck Close @ SF Moma

I am so amazed by the work of the painter, photographer and printmaker Chuck Close.
This American artist is highly renowned for his work on portrait.
As he said he builds "painting experiences for the viewer."
And he really does, when you see his artwork you are obviously surprised and amazed.
I especially admired all the print works with stamp pad ink. All this fingerprints that makes a perfect portrait nearly like a picture!
Also the Jacquard tapestry, if you don't read the information about this piece, you would definitely think it is a picture but it's not!

Seen at San Francisco Moma.

This is a Jacquard tapestry, not a picture!

This is pastel on paper.

This is stamp pad ink on paper.

This is pulp-paper collage on canvas!

Silkscreen on canvas.

Joon & Jung Necklaces

A few years ago I made necklaces with cardboard paper and tiny light chains.
The idea came to me every time I was dancing with a necklace, it was always to heavy and bothering me. So I decided to make very light jewels, you nearly don't feel!

I am happy to see that the designers Joon and Jung had the idea too with their project "1gr":
They designed those necklaces for girls who are suffering their neck and back by wearing heavy jewelry.
Their gorgeous necklace weights less than 1g. They are very light, and very beautiful!!
I want one!
